Level Peaks Softie Suit is anything but soft. Designed for extreme cold and wet conditions, the suit can be heavily compacted for storage in mission packs.
Constructed from the worlds premier, synthetic insulation materials, designed to be warmer, drier, softer and more compressible than any other fabric available.
- Compression: Ultra fine fibers make the garments as soft and lightweight as natural down. Synthetic ultra fine fibers are softer, more comfortable and allow for superior compression allowing for more space in your pack.
- Outer Shell Fabric: Created from synthetic fibers, which have water resistant and fast drying characteristics. Moisture vapor from perspiration is allowed to transfer to the surface to allow evaporation.
- Insulation: The ultra fine fibers block the cold air and recycles body heat while maintaining an insulation barrier even when wet.
- Inner Breathable Lining: The inner lining body remains warm, dry and comfortable
The insulation system was originally developed for the US Army as a water resistant down alternative. Today it is the primary insulation for the US Army, Marines, and Special Forces providing them with a tactical advantage over the enemy under extreme wet and cold conditions.
The U.S. Special Forces selected the insulation system as part of a multi-layer Protective Combat Uniform (PCU) system as well as for sleeping bags.
The U.S. Army uses the insulation in Level VII Gen III ECWCS (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System). The U.S. Marine Corps uses the insulation in their extreme cold weather equipment.
