Level Peaks Associates is proud to be a part of the upcoming Afghan Heroes Journal, Afghan Heroes is a charity working hard to set up support groups for the families of the fallen. As mothers of the fallen Afghan Heroes have found that there is little or no support provided for the families. The British Military does provide, support for the next of kin, however not for the rest of the family who are also grieving. Afghan Heroes intend to set up support groups and regional networks to provide a place that families can come together in their grief and help each other through it, by sharing experiences and coping strategies. The aim is to use the website as a tool for families to get in touch as and when they feel ready to do so.
The planned launch of an intranet site will ensure that families can help each other in confidence. Afghan Heroes can arrange personal visits between families to enable them to gain strength and support from each other as well as practical help and assistance to ensure that where families want help and assistance, their voices are heard and action taken. The regionalised network will arrange charity events for the families within their geographical area, to help and support each other. By uniting the families of the fallen, strength can be drawn from each other which can be directed into helping our service personnel on the front line and those returning, having witnessed the atrocities of war. Great Britain as a Nation need to stand together and give all their support and strength to the families who have lost and sacrificed so much for our country, Level Peaks would like them to know that they are behind them.
